ActivaScrew Cannulated
Description
Bioretec’s ActivaScrew Cannulated offers additional surgery precision, since the screw can be installed using a guide wire. It offers a broad range of fully threaded and partially threaded cannulated screws for fixation of fractures and osteotomies. ActivaScrew™ Cannulated is used in lower and upper extremities and is fully bioabsorbable product that dissolves in human body in approximately two years and is eventually replaced by patients own bone.
ActivaScrew™ Cannulated exploits Bioretec’s patented Auto-Compression™ technology which reduces the risk of unstable fixation. This technology tightens the fracture line and provides additional support to proper ossification. Patented Auto-Compression™ is caused by dimensional changes in the screw in human body conditions: its diameter will expand, and its length will decrease to produce the compression.
This implant allows precise installation with guide wire and has a sufficient number of size variations. With bioabsorbable implants the need for implant removal operation is removed, which leads to saving in health care resources. Like all Activa™ series implants, ActivaScrew™ Cannulated can be cut for example with hot wire or scissors.
